Alicia
Garfias PrProfile
She
was born in Central Mexico and grew up surrounded by the Colonial art
-still alive in the ancient Haciendas, monasterys and convents of the
State of San Luis Potosí.
Alicia
was educated in Catholic schools in Mexico City, Saint Louis MO and
Paris, France, through a process in which she began to develop her talents
at oil painting. Together with the formal academic education she kept
on feeding her spirit with additional studies in History of Art, crafts
and pictoric techniques.
Today,
Garfias is the only artist producing tratidional oil paintings, of Our
Lady of Guadalupe. In Gafias' works all the typical elements are present
such as the Virgin flowers, the angels and the Apparitions to Juan Diego.
